2018 S United States Mint America The Beatiful Quarters Proof Set Original Mint Packaging

This set features all five 2018 America the Beautiful Quarters with proof finishes. United States Mint proof coins feature sharp relief and a mirror-like background. Their sculpted, frosted foregrounds give them a special cameo effect. Proof blanks are specially treated, polished, and cleaned to ensure high-quality strikes. The blanks are then fed into presses fitted with specially polished dies and struck at least twice to ensure sharp relief. The coins are then packaged in a protective lens to showcase and maintain their exceptional finish. The 2018 edition of the United States Mint America the Beautiful Quarters Proof Set is the ninth in the series. Each coin in this series features a common obverse (heads) with the 1932 portrait of George Washington by John Flanagan, restored to bring out subtle details and the beauty of the original model. The 2018 reverse (tails) of these coins honor the sites below with the following designs: Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in Michigan This design depicts Chapel Rock and the white pine tree that grows atop. Apostle Islands National Lakeshore in Wisconsin This design depicts the sea caves at Devils Island with the lighthouse in the background and a kayaker paddling in the foreground. Voyageurs National Park in Minnesota This design depicts a common loon with a rock cliff in the background. Cumberland Island National Seashore in Georgia This design depicts a snowy egret posing on a branch on the edge of a salt marsh, ready for flight. Block Island National Wildlife Refuge in Rhode Island This design depicts a black-crowned night-heron flying over a view from the beach at Cow Cove looking towards Sandy Point.
