DescriptionThe Ronald Reagan 2016 1 Coin Cover, the American Presidency 1 Coin Cover Series showcases the Presidential 1 Coins. The 2016 Ronald Reagan 1 Coin Cover is the final coin issued in the series, which began in 2007. This limited edition cover-only 25,000 will be produced-features two Ronald Reagan 1 Coins from the first day of production at the U. S. Mint facility-January 6, 2016 (Philadelphia) and December 15, 2015 (Denver). The coins are mounted on a display card inside an envelope with a U.S. Red, White, and Blue (Forever) stamp. The cover also features a portrait of President Ronald Reagan, and the postmark of August 18, 2016, Simi Valley, California, marks the day the Ronald Reagan 1 Coin Cover was issued by the U.S. Mint. These coin designs display large, dramatic artwork and edge-incused inscriptions of the year, E PLURIBUS UNUM and the mint mark. Each coin features a likeness of President Reagan on the obverse (heads) with the inscriptions RONALD REAGAN, IN GOD WE TRUST, 40th PRESIDENT, and 1981-1989. Presidential 1 Coins have a common reverse (tails) design featuring a striking rendition of the Statue of Liberty. Inscriptions are UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and 1. In 2005, President George W. Bush signed the Presidential 1 Coin Act authorizing the U.S. Mint to strike 1 coins honoring America's Presidents in the order in which they served. This coin, the final one in the Presidential 1 Coin Program, honors President Ronald Reagan.
